Productivity is a much maligned concept – always claimed as the reason for cost-cutting and job losses. Successful companies, however, work to increase productivity by adding value, leading to sustainable growth.

In the course of their work, pbas continually encounter the key government objective, which aspires to increase the productivity of UK companies. The Department for Trade and Industry has as its over arching PSA target 1, as the need to raise the rate of UK productivity growth.

Productivity is easily defined but much misunderstood.
